NCD Screening Program
Apollo’s endeavour to bring the paradigm shift from “illness to wellness” by focusing on preventive healthcare is the power behind population NCD screening. Apollo TeleHealth is not only contributing to reducing the disease burden but also, predicting and curing the disease progression. Keeping this vision in mind, Apollo TeleHealth has been working with various corporate and associates to conduct Non-Communicable diseases screening (NCD) camps for multiple diseases like Hypertension, Diabetes, Anaemia, Cardiovascular diseases, Stroke, and Cancer, etc. These screening camps are of both public as well as private in nature, catering all sections of the society.
Apollo TeleHealth is the implementation partner of the “Get Active” program. This program is for the prevention and control of NCDs, using screening and health education tools. This program has been implemented across seven cities in India viz., Bangalore, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Pune, Kolkata, Vijayawada, and Coimbatore.
Stakeholders or social groups targeted under this initiative include individuals from lower-income groups in urban slums and industrial workers.
The unique propositions offered by this program are as follows:
- Screening of multiple risk factors of NCDs like Hypertension, Diabetes, anaemia, etc.
- Data collection through the integration of Information Technology (IT) and clinical decision support software module.
- Provision of teleconsultations during these camps to participants who are identified “at-risk” and participants already affected with NCDs.
- Health education sessions using customized audio-visual content (in local vernacular language) on NCDs to women participants in urban slums along with the assessment of knowledge retention
