Sleep Apnea

One of the critical parameters in helping us stay healthy is getting good sleep. However, as we continue to live in a stressful world, many of us are deprived of that well-deserved sleep leading to suffering from acute sleep disorders. One of the most commonly heard of is Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Before we get into the possible solutions, let us understand a bit more about this condition.

Sleep Apnea – What’s it all about?

Sleep Apnea is a complex sleep disorder that affects your smooth breathing process. There are two main types of Sleep Apnea; Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Central Sleep Apnea. Obstructive Sleep Apnea is the more commonly observed type. Sleep Apnea can be a potentially threatening condition if not diagnosed and treated at the right time. Hence, it is extremely essential to get to the best physician who has a good understanding of Sleep Apnea and skills to cure it.

What are the symptoms of Sleep Apnea?

The most commonly observed symptoms of Sleep Apnea include,

Loud Snoring

Morning Headache

Difficulty in staying asleep at night

Feeling sleepy for longer durations during daytime

Experiencing dry mouth conditions

What are the possible treatments available for Sleep Apnea?

Sleep Apnea is a condition that can get more complicated if not addressed effectively and on time. The use of modern technology in treating health complications has contributed a great deal to treat complex health conditions. This is where our Good Nidra program has made a huge difference.

What is the Good Nidra Program all about?

The Good Nidra Program is a unique program where innovation meets excellence. A professionally designed program, it involves a systematic approach to treating Sleep Apnea. The Good Nidra Program involves 5 stages that include,

Screening

In this stage, the patients are subjected to a small evaluation through a questionnaire called the STOPBANG Questionnaire, where they will be requested to answer certain questions related to their medical history. This will help the doctor screen patients for potentially positive sleep disorders.

Diagnosis

This stage involves a sleep technician who would conduct a sleep study test on the patients who test positive for sleep disorders. The test can be taken up at the residence of the patient. The choice of the doctor to prescribe the sleep study test is left to the patient’s comfort as a pool of our in-house doctors are available to support any time or the patient can get the sleep study test prescribed by their own personal doctors.

Titration

This is the third phase where the technician conducts the test by using a device. The usage of this device is explained in detail to the patient as this study is conducted over a period of 2 days. The results of this test enable the treating doctor to decide on the best possible treatment therapy.

Treatment

Based on the Titration test report, your doctor will recommend the course of your treatment which is usually with the support of a technology-driven device called CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure Device. The doctor-technician team will advise you on how to use the device.

Follow Up

The instant reports generated by this device will enable your doctor to study the progress of the treatment from a remote location and take further decisions accordingly.
