After the successful launch and running of Electronic Urban Primary Health Centres under PPP with Government of Andhra Pradesh, Apollo Tele Health has bagged yet another project in its series of Public Private Partnerships

Apollo Hospitals have signed up MoU with Government of Andhra Pradesh to drive the vision of its Chairman for bringing healthcare closer to the public; this time for providing Ophthalmology screening, diagnosis and consultations to the public residing in Mandal level localities across the state of Andhra Pradesh

Apollo Tele Health will set up Tele-Ophthalmology centres with state-of-the-art eye diagnostic facilities at 115 identified Community Health Centres run by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of Andhra Pradesh in the 13 districts of the state

Each centre will be equipped with, Automated digital equipment viz; Fundus Camera, Auto-refractor, Lensometer, Trial Set and other eye screening devices with qualified Ophthalmic Assistant and an Ophthal technician to operate the centres. These centres will run for 8 hours a day and 7 days a week including all holidays. Apollo Tele Health will manage the project electronically through Electronic Medical Record keeping; digital transmission of images captured from the equipment for eye screening and digital reported though Tele medicine

These Tele-Ophthalmology centres will be screening about 20% to 30% of the total footfalls at Community Health Centres in AP and are estimated to treat 35 lakh people, towards touching a billion lives, through Telehealth
